We have decided to film on Wednesday 14th October during the day. This may cause some problems as darker lighting is required in several of our shots, however we hope to overcome this by closing curtains and lighting the room using a light and different coloured gels. We intend to film at Rosie's house as it is close to college and in town. We also require to use a field for our end shot where the person in costume wakes on their own in a state of confusion. Hopefully we will manage to film these both on the same day as we only have the camera for one night and will otherwise have to wait another week before we can film it. It will not be a problem to film at the house, we just need to find a way to get out of Cambridge with ll our equipment. We were thinking of filming the scene in the field just outside of Cambridge near the Gog Magog hills as this does not involve much travel and is a good open space.
As well as ourselves we also require about 10 other people including the person in costume to act in our video. We need three people to play instruments and act as band members and someone to mime to the track. The rest of the people will act as people at the party with one person dressed in costume.
For filming we wish to use several extras as well as the camera and tripod. We decided to use a light as we will be working in dark rooms sometimes and hopefully this will create an interesting effect in the shot. We then thought about using different coloured gels to create different feelings or moods in a shot selecting red, blue and turquoise. We have also asked for a fish eye lens. Although we can add a fish eye effect in final cut we thought that if we decided we did want to use this in our video then it would have a nicer effect done using the actual effect rather than a filter. We came up with this idea as we were looking back over our blog at the Chris Cunningham, Aphex Twin, videos and as well as liking the slightly surreal twist it puts on the image we also thought it would be good to relate our work back to what we were looking at when we started the project. Hopefully using these extras will give our video a more interesting individual approach.
